A Few Favourite Things

A Few Favourite Things, the Talos Art Gallery November exhibition, looks towards the festive season and commemorates Remembrance Day.

From a War Memorial by Talos Art Foundry owner Richard Atkinson-Willes, to a life-sized Lester Piggott by portrait sculptor William Newton, the bronze-cast sculptures range from small, mantel-sized art to garden centre pieces.

The first of the original nine sculptures of jockey Lester Piggott was unveiled by the Queen at Epsom racecourse, with others at eight racecourses around the UK.

The sculptures cast here will show alongside work created by artists from Project Workshops, including stoneware animals by ceramist Elaine Peto and handblown Christmas baubles by Roman glassmakers David Hill and Mark Taylor, who regularly supply the film and TV industry.

Talos Art Gallery was created at Broads Green Farm near Calne, Wiltshire, to exhibit the finest art cast at the foundry.
